Brancepeth Castle

Littleburn Colliery

According to www.dmm.org.uk, Littleburn Colliery was also known as North Brancepeth Colliery. It was opened around 1840. It records a number of deaths at the pit, some of which do fit the apparitions said to appear here, although the same fatalities were doubtlessly replicated across coalfields the length and breadth of Britain.

According to Coxe, it is haunted by a pit pony and miner.
